The ancient art of “Blacksmithing” has been building nations since the beginning of time, therefore when Jim Foley Snr. commenced the operation of N.Q. Springs back in 1961 it forged for itself a strong reputation on the building blocks of industrial development in North Queensland.

The subsequent years saw N.Q.Springs develop a strong client base, ultimately putting her in the No.1 position, servicing the N.Q. Mining industries along with the provision of services to all of the North’s heavy and light industries.

At the beginning of 1973, a young apprentice, Jim Foley Jnr. commenced under the watchful eye of his master and quickly developed the skills of his mentor.

This thorough training enabled young Jim to take on a partnership position in 1977 and was instrumental in the development of all the new technologies.

Jim Foley Jnr. became N.Q.Springs on the retirement of his master, mentor and father during 1990 and had positioned the company to continue forging ahead into the 21st. century.

N.Q.Springs is one of only a few genuine blacksmithing companies operating in the North and still maintains the classic anvil and associated forging equipment combined with all the latest technological advances necessary to meet the demands of today’s mining, industrial, trucking and other motorized industries
